Dearborn Motel - Inkster, MI

The giant yellow metal claw just might catch your eye after a long drive.

  1. It's an eye-catcher alright. Very Modern, I think.

  2. I grew up in this motel. My mother was the clerk, and I'd stay in the reception area behind the sign until it was time to go to school across the street. It was a big, U-shaped layout with single-story bungalows on the left and three levels on the side just out of the frame. You can't quite see it here, but next to the office entrance there was a little fountain with water gushing out from a pot held by an alabaster cherub.
