Enjoy an eye-popping gander at the fantastic North American roadside motels of the 1950s, 60s and 70s. I am an accumulator of motel postcards, and I've made it my life's work to share them with you here.

Cloud Motel - Los Angeles, CA
This one's not only a wonderful-looking hotel, but my postcard from 1962 is addressed to DJ Norm Davis at KYA-AM in San Francisco, asking him to play "Bird Dog" by The Everly Brothers. A request by postcard!
Well, I actually stayed at this dump a few times in the 60's. Our parents were taking us to Disneyland, and of course we could not afford the Disneyland Hotel. The unit we had included a kitchenette. I will say, the pool was not too bad.
